Spoke Cafe was started in the summer of 2021 by Alec Olson, age 13. After binging Shark Tank during the pandemic, he was bitten by the entrepreneurial bug and set out to start his own company. After doing some market research, he, with the help of his parents, landed on a mobile bike cafe that could serve both nitro cold brew coffee (a hot market) and old-fashioned root beer (his personal favorite) from the dual taps on his custom made bike! Never one to pass up an opportunity, he quickly added ice cream floats (root beer or nitro coffee) and began making his rounds to block parties and corporate events. Alec believes strongly in giving back to the community. Spoke Cafe supports Oak Park, IL-based Beyond Hunger who provides hunger relief programming and services to our local community. Alec began his work with them through Boy Scouts and now hosts an annual fundraising event plus donates 20% of net profits from each bag of coffee beans sold.
