“The Host Committee is profoundly grateful President Biden selected Chicago to host the 2024 Democratic National Convention. Our city has a proven track record of success when it comes to hosting large-scale, complex events. Chicago has hosted 25 nominating conventions since 1860––more than any other city in America––and we look forward to welcoming visitors from around the world to our 26th convention next month. The Host Committee’s commitment to creating a world-class experience for all attendees and residents remains unchanged, and we are laser-focused on our goal of driving lasting social and economic impact across the Chicagoland area.”

Chicago, IL – Today, the Chicago 2024 Host Committee announced that it has received more than 12,000 completed volunteer applications, surpassing a critical planning milestone more than a month before the Democratic National Convention in August.

During Pride month, and all year long, the convention team is focused on uplifting the diversity of Chicago’s small business community and ensuring convention visitors are aware of the variety of local venues and vendors available to them this August. 

Chicago, IL – Today, the Chicago 2024 Host Committee launched the official DNC volunteer application, a crucial milestone in the recruitment of 12,000+ volunteers for the upcoming Democratic National Convention. All interested volunteers must register and complete the application now available on the Host Committee’s website. Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age or older, and able to pass a background check required by the United States Secret Service to participate.

He highlighted the resources the Chicago 2024 Host Committee has created for the convention that will all continue to be used long after the event has left Chicago.

Chicago, IL – In an effort to host the most accessible, sustainable, and inclusive convention in history, the Chicago 2024 Host Committee announced the formation of three additional advisory councils to make recommendations on best practices for youth engagement, accessibility, and labor relations for the upcoming Democratic National Convention. The three councils, in addition to the Business Diversity Advisory Council formed last December, work closely with the Host Committee to ensure regional experts can provide input on the convention planning and decision-making process.

Chicago, IL – Today, the Chicago 2024 Host Committee and the Democratic National Convention Committee (DNCC) released a new request for proposals (RFP) for security services for the upcoming Democratic National Convention. Vendors may submit bids to provide venue security services at the United Center and McCormick Place during convention week, as well as the option to provide security drivers. Last week, the Host Committee and DNCC held a Security Outreach Summit that welcomed registration from more than 100 prospective vendors.

Chicago, IL – Following a rigorous search and selection process, the Chicago 2024 Host Committee and the Democratic National Convention Committee (DNCC) selected two local, diverse-owned teams with extensive large-scale event planning and execution experience to produce the largest official hospitality events for the 2024 Democratic National Convention. Chicago-based event production company Juan and Only Events has partnered with local firms elemento L2 and All Terrain to produce events welcoming convention attendees. Chicago’s Revel Global Events and 5423 Productions have also teamed to execute other official convention events that will showcase local enterprises.

Today, the Chicago 2024 Host Committee and Democratic National Convention Committee (DNCC) hosted more than 250 vendors at the United Center and virtually for an exposition services and construction vendor summit and matchmaking session. Participants were given a first look at upcoming arena operations subcontracting opportunities and had the chance to network with fellow industry professionals.
