Chicago 2024 Host Committee Unveils Expanded Media Kit
Chicago, IL – Today, as part of a continued effort to shine a spotlight on Chicago’s diverse and distinct neighborhoods, the Chicago 2024 Host Committee unveiled an expanded media kit for reporters traveling in for the convention — providing new resources and information to cover the untold stories that exist all across the city.
In partnership with Choose Chicago, the Chicago 2024 Host Committee has identified local stories and spokespeople from across Chicago’s 77 neighborhoods.

“From day one, the Host Committee has been focused on highlighting the true stories of Chicago’s hardworking people,” said Chicago 2024 Host Committee Executive Director Christy George. “From the family-owned taquerias in Pilsen to the historic homes in Austin, Chicago is home to thousands of unique stories and experiences. We want to make sure anyone traveling in for the convention is aware of the richness that our city holds.”
“In every corner of Chicago, there are people making a difference,” said Interim President and CEO of Choose Chicago Rich Gamble. “As the 2024 Democratic National Convention approaches, we encourage interested media to consider the stories and perspectives of the people and organizations across Chicago’s neighborhoods that set Chicago apart. The resources in the expanded media kit are a great starting point.”
Developed with input from both the Illinois and Chicago Film Offices, the expanded media kit features a list of iconic Chicago locations that are suitable for standup filming. These locations have iconic Chicago backdrops and will help showcase the city in a positive light for national and international audiences.
The expanded media kit also includes links to critical resources from Choose Chicago including a guide to Chicago’s neighborhoods, the 2024 Chicago Visitors Guide, information about Chicago’s hotel supply, awards and accolades the city has earned, fun facts and key figures, as well as free access to b-roll footage and stock images.
The expanded media kit is being unveiled just one day before the convention team hosts more than 400 members of the media at the United Center for a second logistical walkthrough.
