Chicago 2024 Host Committee and Democratic National Convention Committee Seek Requests for Proposal for Transportation Services

Chicago, IL – Today, following a virtual outreach summit, the Chicago 2024 Host Committee and the Democratic National Convention Committee (DNCC) released new requests for proposal (RFP) for transportation services for the upcoming Democratic National Convention. During Convention week, the DNCC will set up a transportation system that transports credentialed guests between the United Center, McCormick Place, and contracted hotels.

The Host Committee and DNCC are seeking comprehensive proposals from qualified individuals or companies to provide secure, accessible shuttle services to and from all DNCC contracted hotels to Convention proceedings at the United Center and shuttle service to and from DNCC delegate hotels to McCormick Place for Convention-related meetings. Vendors may bid on one or both of the foregoing services. The RFPs can be found on the Host Committee’s website, www.chicago2024.com.

Submissions of intents to bid are due Thursday, February 22, 2024. Submissions of final bids are due by 5:00 pm February 29. Each interested vendor must also create a profile of their company for the Democratic National Convention Vendor Directory available at www.chicago2024.com/vendors.

“Ensuring the seamless transportation of delegates, members of the media, and other Convention guests is a top priority for the Convention team,” said Christy George, Host Committee Executive Director. “Chicago’s robust transportation infrastructure, coupled with the services sought in our latest RFP, will ensure smooth travel for delegates and residents alike.”

“Our team is working around the clock to make this year’s convention one of the most centralized and convenient conventions in recent history,” said Alex Hornbrook, DNCC Executive Director. “We’re eager to hear from the community about making travel across the Democratic National Convention as accessible as possible.”

The selected vendors will be responsible for providing motor coach transportation services to credentialed Convention participants, including state delegations, media, Democratic-allied groups and other organizations and invited guests.

The Host Committee and DNCC anticipate that decision announcements, which may be a notice of intent to award the contract or a notice that no contract will be awarded based on this RFP process, will be issued around the week of March 11, 2024.

As with previous RFPs, the Host Committee and DNCC will evaluate bids based on numerous criteria, including but not limited to: experience, reliability, costs, relationships to Chicago and the surrounding region, participation of union labor, women, minorities, veterans, and persons with disabilities.
