Built as a movie theater for the Balaban & Katz chain and designed by Architects George and C.W. Rapp/ Rapp & Rapp, The Riviera Theatre was completed in 1917 and opened in 1918.
The Riviera Theatre is now a popular Chicago performance and special events venue.
Located in Chicago’s historic Uptown Theater District, at the intersection of Racine, Broadway and Lawrence.
Capacity is 2,500 with the main floor open for standing and the balcony seated or 1,400 fully seated.
