Somethin’ Sweet Donuts is a family-owned and operated business operating in Chicago since 2012. Founded by my parents Jim and Ling Chao, our mission is to provide handmade artisanal donuts and other baked goods for the communities we serve. We pride ourselves as being an inclusive business where everyone is welcome. Community involvement is deeply embedded in our mission and values. As a company, we fundraise, donate, and support neighborhood community organizations. We’ve conducted over 11 different fundraisers with local schools, and neighborhood parks. We hire locally, employing students and residents from the neighborhood. We not only live, work, and operate in Albany Park, but our family story and heritage is woven into the cultural fabric of this community. My parents immigrated to Chicago in 1981, and laid down our roots right here in Albany Park. Inclusivity and mindfulness of the communities we serve are always present in our decision-making. Celebrating culture and bolstering the communities we serve is central to our mission.
