Kiku Handmade is a female-founded, Chicago based glass art studio started by artist Laurie Freivogel in 2004. Laurie creates screen printed, fused glass home goods, including contemporary glass coasters, serving pieces, magnets and more. Laurie creates her artwork and prints it by hand with fine glass enamels onto colorful sheet glass, then fuses in her kilns in multiple firings. Her design-focused imagery consists of bold graphics, botanical drawings, pop-culture icons, and quintessential city landmarks. Because of the screen printing medium, she is able to specialize in custom design for her clients. Laurie has had the honor of doing custom design and off-the-shelf products for museum stores at the National Archives, the Smithsonian, the Art Institute of Chicago, plus about 100 additional museum stores and brick-and-mortars across the country.
